I agree with your thoughts on the beak nosed hilts. I didn't like them at all when I first saw them. But they kind of grew on me.
Both swords are very nicely balanced, and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised once I had the Eljay sword hilted. That such a broad blade can feel so light in the hand is impressive. Eljay IS a master craftsman. And John Lundemo has done a terrific job on the blade.
I'll have to take measurements so you'll get the stats for it.
This is how I look when marching to battle with my broadsword by Donnie :) A clansman you say? Highland Gentleman, I insist :P
