Before and after pictures
Well, more like in-progress since it isn't finished yet. This will be my first katana, one that I picked out from that group of Rick's bare blades. It was in first batch of blades that I watched be clayed and heat treated, and has a hako type of hamon if I remember correctly. It shows up as number three below. Then we have it in its current state near the stage to begin the foundation polish. Might have one belt to go through before we start
polishing. I have only just started doing some polishing on the first stone, but I hope that I can do a large chunk of the foundation polish for it. Finally we have the habaki for it. Which I did the rough forging work, then Rick turned it into something. *G* I started looking at as many pictures of swords and fittings as I could, and happened upon this design from an original Moses Bercerra has on his site. Nothing totally nailed down for the rest of the fittings, but there will be some unique things going on.
