... curbing my birthday exuberance I patiently sat before the package and chose to proceed cautiously.
I examined the slim parcel, turning it this way and that. Eight nails held the frame together at the sides.
Twenty screws fastened top and bottom in place. Clear tape sealed the edges against splinters. Ahhh,
this would require tools -- a scalpel and a screwdriver, a PHILLIPS head screwdriver no less ! -- and
perhaps the dexterity of a bomb-defusing expert. Thus prepared I chose one side as the top and went
to work.
Eight screws later, and an incision three-quarters way round, I gently pried the lid open, letting it fall back
to hit the carpet softly. I braced myself emotionally --
Dam, now the mystery of bubble wrap challenged me ...
