I recently came upon this sword. It has a crown and possibly a Staffords Knot on it. I think its a Georgian Spadroon. Can anyone tell me what it is or send me in the right direction?
Thank You,
Tabitha
Tabitha,
That is not a Georgian spadroon. It looks more like a continental sword from the 19th century. It could be an Austrian M1861 Infantry Officer's Sword. I suggest posting this on the Antique and Military subforum of www.swordforum.com as there are several people there who should be able to help you.
Good Luck,
Jonathan

Looks like an Austrian model 1864 (? I may have the date wrong).

Tabitha,
I'm inclined to say 1861 as well......I'll have to do some more digging in reference to the blade marking.
Here's a pic of my 1861 (3rd from the top)
Cheers,
Bill
