Identifying a thumb-ring
I've been asked recently a few times to show exactly what a thumb-ring is.

So here are some photos of swords in my own collection, each having the thumb-ring clearly defined.

That one sure rings true to me!
The hand and a halfer
I must commend you on that one, Nathan... I saw the original on Liongate some time ago and for a long while considered a custom replica myself, before realizing I'm too poor for something that intricately made. Very nice sword you have there. (And the other one by Erik somethingtheother is nice, too. Stevenson, that is the guy :D :) )

Nathan
Does that make you Lord of the Rings ?

Art
...or maybe it just means he's all thumbs.
Ouch, ouch ouch...

BTW, Nathan, what are the chances of a review of the new Del Tin? A ringing endorsement for these, or not?

I recall Art Elwell saying he would have some in by December.

I really had meant to have this reviewed by now, but I haven't been able to get it done. I'd certainly recommend them, as they're the best production schiavona available of which I am aware. I'm still uncertain what the retail price is going to be on these pieces, so I'll hold my final thumb's up (no pun intended!) until I can relate it back to the price point.
