Hey, guys. I need a little help. I just purchased a sword, with which I'm well pleased. The Laird is a perfect sword for me! Anyhow, more to the point, the sword came with a scabbard. It does not really lock onto the scabbard when I push the sword home, actually it is pretty loose. for me, it seems a tad unsafe and I'd like to rectify it if I can. Now , I know, I worked at Albion but this was an issue that I never really dealt with so I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do. So if any of you fellow sword collectors have had similar issues and figured out a resolution, please lend me your suggestions!
Thanks
Brett

This might work? Worked once for me.
Ok get a light material, linnen or something then sew it into a sheath wich fits the blade snug. Then with the thin sheath over the blade push the blade into the scabbard. When its in, you can glue and trim the top neatly down at the throat.
PS it has to be machine stitched for strength, also if the bade is sharp then use maybe a blunt of similiar size to push it in?
It worked once for me, but it needs to be a loose fit. If this doesnt work maybe 2 thin felt strips glued down the sides, they dont have to be long.
