my last is my lovely Albion Acre I purchased last year... ...and a scabbard for my Acre by Art Elwell.

I'd very much like to see some photos of the Acre/ Art Elwell scabbard combo!
Hi Mac!

The more I see that Eljay the more I like it. The green rayskin is very cool and very different. What type of wire/ribbon is used on the grip?

dave
My last sword was my 20th Anniversary Edition Atlantean sword from Albion Armorers. I love it! :)

I've wanted this sword for a looooong time!
Hi Dave

I believe it's a nickel silver wire ....... I'll have to double check that , with Eljay, as I dont recall what he told me, positively !

Eljay does some beautiful grips ! , Mac

Man, that Conan sword is honking huge!

Looks great!
Thanks, Chuck ...

I really love my Atlantean sword. When I bought it I sort of had an idea, from looking at it in pictures, that it would look great but be very unwieldy ... however, I was in for a big pleasant surprise when it arrived ... it is exceptionally well balanced and feels great! I have a hard time keeping my hands off of it. :)

I've always liked the Atlantean but kind of lean toward the Father's/Masters sword myself. Just always loved the look of it I guess. I've considered making my own version, since I don't have the finances to buy the real item (else I'd already have one)... probably never will, though. But I do have some foundry experience and the sculpting skills required, if I ever decide to... ;) If I ever do make one, I think I'll go with an original design, though. I just can't borrow stuff from other artists without worrying I'm stealing from them....

Sure thing Nathan......as soon as I take delivery from Art. Should be pretty soon. Maybe I can get him to shoot some pics as my digicam is pretty crappy (exhibit A: the photos of my Acre in your photo gallery).
Regards,
Mike
Hi, Scott ... I love the Father's/Master's sword, too. While I've always leaned in favor toward the Atlantean, I do have my sights set on doing some saving up for a Father's sword. I'm hoping someday to have one sitting right beside the Atlantean. Until then, I like to dream and drool over it. It's a beautiful sword! :)

Oh, no doubt about it... Having both would be better than just having one. I've always had a bit of an attraction for a couple of the other pieces from Conan as well. The mother's sword, one like Valeria or Subotai used, etc. Best I can do is dream about it, though. At least for the forseeable future. Well, since Albion is doing all of these things, I at least get to window shop...

Then there is that Discerner thingie. Not from Conan, but still interesting.... :) ;)
My newest sword is this beautiful Howard Clark katana that just arrived this week from Dave Drawdy. I've been on a little bit of a spending spree lately, but this should be the last purchase for a long while. I'm having trouble taking any pictures that do it justice, but here is one so that you get the general idea.

I've got the Del Tin 5173 Schiavona on order. Before that, I bought the now discontinued Albion Gaddhjalt.

Regards
I know what you mean, Scott. I certainly do my fair share of window shopping in the Albion pages and I just about live in the Riddle of Steel page. :D

And ... thanks most sincerely. :)
Here is another shot of the katana. I'll admit that i barely know how to use this digital camera (can't seem to figure out how to turn the flash OFF), but since I just spent 13 hours every day this week updating tech manuals I have no desire to read one while I am at home. I'm sure if I keep pressing buttons I'll eventually figure it out, or if that fails I can just cover the flash with my thumb........

I like your katana, Robert. A beautiful sword there. :) I'm pretty much in the same boat with my digital camera. I lost my instruction manual and haven't gotten around to downloading one from the Sony web site, so I've been figuring mine out by trial and error, too (and, man, I sure can make a lot of errors with it!).

And, Thomas, I love that Eljay, too! That's a very nice grip. :)
Thanks Jim. Frankly I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl about this sword, as it is the finest example of craftsmanship of any kind that I have ever owned. My shipmates (coworkers, whatever) are ready to kill me just to shut me up about this blade. If I may I would like to thank Howard Clark, Keith Larman, and Ted Tenold for creating this magnificent blade that I am privileged enough to be custodian of. Thank you gentlemen, you do beautiful work.
Hi Jim

Thanks .... and congrats on your Atlantean , I hear tell they are wonderful !

Not to take this thread off topic ( but I do so often wander :-)
Here's another cool grip that Eljay made ... this one for Alex's SW11 reproduction !
( which I believe was his last sword received .... see, I didn't wander too far ;-) Mac

My pleasure, Robert ... I know exactly what you mean, too. I feel pretty giddy with that "kid on Christmas morning" excitement over a couple of swords myself. :)
The most recent addition here is an A&A warsword. This is the Edward blade with Urbino mounts.

The cross suffered a little in transit, so I split the difference. One side had been curled right around during the plane ride.

I have to get this outside for some better pictures.

Cheers

Glen
Last sword was my Hod Hill from Manning Imperial

Since then, I did pick up a bare blade (Al Massey spatha blade) from Albion's "clearance sale" and hilted it up in classic La Tene style
