I had been checking the availability of riveted mail supplies at Forth Armory diligently for the past several months. No new stock seemed to be available since the beginning of this year. This morning, the web site for Forth Armory posted a CLOSED notice.
I am wondering where those of us who plan to make their own riveted mail will get our supplies now?

From an email I received this morning from Forth Armoury:

You could order loose rings from Historic Enterprises, or try directly from an Indian supplier like SN Exports. I purchased a coif from SN. It was a good transaction. I asked about loose rings, so I know they sell them pretty cheap, but the shipping will get ya.

Out of curiosity, did you ask if SN does custom work?
No, I did not. They seemed relatively accomadating, so its worth asking however...
you could also try GDFBglobal.com although I don't know if they sell loose rings-I would assume so though.
you might also try here as well:

Rather than keeping potentially beneficial info private, why not simply discuss it here: http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=10356
:)
The most common rings that were previously sold by Forth Armory were made from 18 gage mild steel, and were flattened to about 1/32" thick. These were described as having an inner diameter of 3/8".
The Ring Lord does not seem to exactly match this in a mild, ungalvanized steel. Historic Enterprises has what may be similar all riveted ring supplies. For those who were starting alternating riveted/ solid patterns, there may be a problem.

SN Exports does do custom work. How are their prices for standard stuff, however? I checked their site and didn't see prices.

they are really inexpensive.....I just got a quote frome them. For a full hauberk of flat ring round rivit mail you are looking at around $269 for a large and $345 for one made of flat-wedge make. Now shipping is another question.
We were quoted 300 euros for a large Hauberk, and about 80 euros shipping to the NL (for one Hauberk).
300+80 euro only?Worth considering..
