I like the way that the website for St George has a page of 'Swords in Stock' - which all have 'SOLD' next to them.

His swords don't hang around in the shop for a long time...

I have expirience with one of the wred-grip swords from this smith. I hit the sword once, to test it and it was completele bend. It was a horible useless sword. |
Ouch ! What did you hit the thing with / on ? I have never heard of even basic mild steel failing in 'a complete bend' without some major level of abuse !
Re St Georges
very nice swords ( I have a reenactment blunt Longsword ) & Mark Vickers is a good bloke to deal with, at lest a 7 month wait unless he has managed to make a few spare for a market ..... where most of the swords on his stand also have the 'Sold' sticker on them.
One of those was mine, and another was for someone else in my group. When we want custom swords, we go to Mark Vickers (St.George Armoury).

sword against sword, sharp against flat. Hit the sword not even that hard :\
Hi Folks
I tried contacting St.George Armoury about .. i have to guess. 2 to 3 weeks ago. I was asking for a rough estimate on a custom for reenactment.
I will try again once i saved up some more cash. This commission went to Viktor. But i am sure to try again, for Marks work really does look nice.
Best regards
Klaus

Aloah !
I got an answer from Kasto. org for more information on two swords.
Interesting part for the community might be that - according to the mail from Filip Rygel - they harden to about 48-50 HRc.
Sounds a bit a low to me. Not sure.
Not sure how to read that. Sharps are 30 % extra or blunts for sparring are 30% extra ? Prices are very low though. Even cheaper then Viktor.
I might give it a try with one of their pole axes. Have to see .
Best regards
