Mandalay Bay is where the show is being held (w/ the Antique Arms Show) which is at the south end of the Strip, south of Tropicana. Mandalay Bay is VERY close to the McCarran Airport. A short taxi ride, and I think there might be shuttle services from the airport. Will you be doing the same thing as Atlanta, go directly to the show from the airport, with your overnight bag slung across your back?
I'm staying at the Orleans which is about a mile west from the Strip on Tropicana. |
Hi Steve
I'm thinking I'll fly in on Thursday and get settled ..... the Tropicana seems to have decent deals, pricewise !
(can't figure out why the Travel Lodge South is more expensive ? )
I figure to fly back on Sunday evening, late, and get back home early Monday !
Least thats what's in my head today ? Mac

Ah you're coming in early. Did that last year and was a part of the Evans posse at the Antique Arms Show. Not sure how the logistics will be this year, since the two shows appear to have merged in a way. In any case the time for Friday has changed from last year. Now the doors open at 9:00 a.m.

Unfortunately, this year I am flying in, and TSA goons tend to hyperventilate at the sight of sharp and pointies in one's luggage.
You'll just have to take a vacation one of these days to SoCal. Bring the wife and daughter. We have Disneyland out here.

By my wimpy Southern California standard. Cold. By that I mean, it drops to unbearable low 30's at night. During the day, I've had to endure such mind-numbingly frigid temperatures at 54 degrees F. Usually sunny, though. The last 6 years I've attended Vegas Class, don't recall having to brave any precipitation.
Of course, this year may be different, seeing as the "Sunny" Southern California is in the middle of rainfall of biblical proportions. 8 out of last10 days we've had rain.

I'll try to be brave and face the digital camera without a flinch.
Me, I'll once again break from racial stereotype and go without any photographic equipment whatsoever. I only tote one when I go to Disneyland on some kind of undercover assignment. You know, blend in...

FYI
Current weather condition from Vegas is: RAIN! And expected to rain for another 4 days. Good thing the show isn't this weekend.
Mac,
Yes, Brad and I have that similar cross to bear. We do endure somehow and trudge on in life. I am smarter about my movie roles, though. I turned down "Oceans Twelve."

Thanks, Steve !
Vince gave me a good idea what to expect, too, so I'll be prepared for whatever, weather-wise !
Speaking of snow .... we got more arriving this morning and continuing all day !
Hopefully we get all of January's snow quota over with before months end !
Wish my plow truck ,& back, well , ;-) Mac
