How would (or could possibly) remove the blued or blackened finishes on some swords and daggers for sale these days? I am going nuts for the Cold Steel Crabclaw parrying dagger. I like SOME of the black finish on it, but I would like to see a little silvery metal on it. I would only remove it from the throat and chape of the scabbard, and maybe a little off the guard and pommel. For those of you who have not seen it, it's at KoA under Renaissance Daggers. Is it possible to remove this stuff with some chemical or other method? Thanks ..............McM

Scotchbrite and acetone should work. Or if it proves particularly tough, start with medium grit paper on a sanding block.
