Albion Armorers Knight Sword

Original: 13th-14th centuries

This sword represents a pattern from the high Middle Ages. Due to its widespread representation in period artwork, it can arguably be considered as the most popular design of the 13th century. The late Ewart Oakeshott designated this sword as a Type XII in his typology of the medieval sword. As such, it represents one of the earliest attempts to design a dual-purpose cut and thrust sword. Albion has chosen to recreate this type in the Knight. The sword has been mounted with mild steel furniture and a grip covered with black leather.
