Museum Replicas Celtic Long Sword
Original: Circa 2nd century AD, British
This sword is very loosely based on the sword found at Embleton, in Britain. The original had a fairly ornate enameled pommel and guard, bronze medial ridge in the center of the grip, and a short, sharp 21.5" blade.
This replica has a much-simplified pommel and guard of red bronze. The blade is CK55 Krupp steel and was made by
Del Tin Armi Antiche in the style and profile of a late La Tène II or early La Tène III form. The grip is of wood covered with leather. The owner has re-covered the grip in brown leather and made a simple brown leather scabbard to match.
