Original: Circa Late 16th century
Long daggers of this sort were often used in tandem with a rapier for civilian duelists in the late Rennaissance. The dagger was often worn at the back and was used in the "off hand" thus earning the name "main gauche".
This replica features a fluted brass pommel, a wide guard with a side ring (anneau), and a twisted wire-wrapped grip. The blade, made by
Del Tin Armi Antiche, is Krupp CK55 steel of flattened diamond cross section.
