* RECOMMENDED * Reviewed by Luke Kramer The information in this book is great, let's get that straight. The only issues I have with it are the black and white pictures, which can be hard to interpret at times, and the weak binding.
The staff is a great weapon due to its effectiveness and low price range. This book even includes a chapter on how to prepare your own. Let me tell you, it is a much shallower learning curve than bladesmithing! Also, on a historical note, swords were generally wielded alongside (and often second to) various spears, lances, polearms, etc, which share many common techniques with the staff. Anyone interested in Western Martial Arts will take something away from this book. Updated Feb 20, 2012 |
